Headteacher's Welcome
A very warm welcome to St Michael and All Angels Church of England Primary School!
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and for your interest in our wonderful school community. We hope these pages give you a glimpse into the caring, vibrant and inspiring environment that makes our school such a special place to learn and grow.
At St Michael and All Angels, we are proud to be a happy, welcoming and inclusive school where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish. Our pupils are at the heart of everything we do, and we celebrate each child as a unique individual with their own talents, strengths and aspirations. We are committed to providing a rich and engaging curriculum, alongside a wide range of opportunities and experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning.
Set in the beautiful surroundings overlooking Lake Burwain, with fields and woodland areas on our doorstep, our school provides a truly unique learning environment. Our children often describe St Michael and All Angels as a "special place" where "everyone feels safe" and "everyone enjoys learning"—a reflection of the nurturing and supportive atmosphere that we work hard to create every day.
As a Church of England school, our Christian values and ethos are central to school life. They guide our relationships, shape our decision-making and encourage us to care for one another and the wider world. We enjoy strong links with St Michael and All Angels Church, located just across the road, and these connections enrich the spiritual life of our school community.
We know that choosing a school can feel like a big step for both you and your child, so we always try to make the process as welcoming and relaxed as possible. At St Michael and All Angels, we believe that children need to feel safe, happy and cared for before anything else. When children feel secure and know that they belong, their confidence grows, and learning naturally follows.
We are proud of the warm, nurturing environment we have created and of the strong relationships between our staff, children and families. Every child is known as an individual, and we work hard to ensure they feel valued, supported and encouraged to be the very best version of themselves. We look forward to getting to know your child—their interests, strengths, personality and individual needs—so that we can help them feel happy, confident and ready to thrive.
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to see the school in action, meet some of our wonderful children and dedicated staff, and experience the welcoming atmosphere that makes our school so special. We hope you will quickly see how much we care about helping every child feel settled, successful and proud to be part of our school family.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated and talented team of staff who are passionate about providing the highest quality education in a safe, caring and stimulating environment. Working in partnership with parents, governors, the church and the wider community, we strive to ensure that every child achieves their full potential academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make, and we would be delighted to welcome you for a visit. Seeing our school in action is the best way to experience the warmth, enthusiasm and sense of belonging that make St Michael and All Angels such a special place.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing all that our school has to offer.
